In Greek mythology, the Gordian Knot represents a complicated and seemingly unsolvable problem. According to the legend, the man clever enough to unravel the Gordian Knot would inherit a kingdom in Asia Minor. Many men attempted this task in hopes of collecting a rich reward, but only one man proved victorious. Alexander the Great was one of many men who tried to untie the knot. He failed at first, but tried a unique approach — he swiftly cut the knot with his sword. No one had previously thought to employ such an unconventional method. For solving a challenge that seemed impossible, Alexander the Great inherited the crown.
